FACILITIES AT CLIFFORD HOUSE

Throughout the house you will find collections of pottery shards, (broken pottery pieces) locally known as chanies. This pottery can be dated back to the 1850 and was part of a cargo of pottery made in Staffordshire in the UK and bound for one of the new world countries.

Unfortunately the Ship in severe gales was wrecked on the Rocks and Sandbanks at Greenore Point. The wreck is to be found in shallow waters off the point from Clifford House. (Ask Margaret for more details).
